Speech Pathologist, Kathryn McLachlan, attended Northern Michigan University where she received a B.S. in Communication Disorders. She also received her M.S. in Speech Pathology from the University of California, Northridge and is certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.
Kathryn has nine experience in diagnosing and treating individuals with a wide range of communicative disorders. Some of the individuals she has successfully treated include those with disorders in voice, fluency, articulation/phonology, language, social skills, orofacial myofunctional disorders, and neurologically based communicative disorders.
She is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA); proposed and obtained funding through educational grant writing, as well as MA funding for students to receive assistive technology devices; provided lecture series on laryngeal cancer and smoking, as well as communication disorder prevention programs; and developed a special education debate team.
Kathryn has been married to a wonderful man for 24 years, they have three children ages 22, 19, and 15. She loves to spend time with her family and cook. Her hobbies consist of gardening, biking, and camping. Her favorite quote is by John Wooden: "Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do".
